ACCOMMODATIONS IN CHERATING

Club
Med Kids The world-renowned Club Med occupies a lovely
stretch of beachfront property along the coastline here.
On 80 private hectares (200 acres), you can expect this
resort chain to take complete care of all your holiday
needs. The compound of Malay-style wooden houses contains
very contemporary but natural furnishings, and nice
little balconies with each. Everything is absolutely
spotless. A note: If you're new to Club Med, they 'll
require a membership fee of RM80 (US$21) for adults
only, added on to your booking (Club Med really is a
club, you see). They'll also be happy to arrange all
your transportation from KL for an additional cost.
For fun, try their outdoor swimming pool, sailing activities,
windsurfing, kayaking, tennis (6 lighted courts), squash,
badminton, cricket, archery, volleyball, wall-scaling,
and a circus school with flying trapeze. They also coordinate
jungle walks and batik lessons. Almost all above activities
are included in your daily rate. At extra cost, there's
also a nearby golf Course. A daily international buffet
features Malay Indian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese
cuisine, while the Pantai features grilled seafood and
meats and Vesuvio opens in the evenings for Italian
fare. After that, head for the nightclub and bar.
Holiday Villa Cherating. This 4-hectare (10-acre) coastline
property has three different wings to choose from: The
Capital Wing houses deluxe rooms in i longhouse building.
The Palace Wing has superior and deluxe chalets. All
categories in both wings have views facing one of the
resorts two pools. Be warned hat not all categories
have double beds, so make sure you specify when booking
if this is important to you. Holiday Villa's best accommodations,
however, lie the Eastern Pavilion Wing-two-room and
three-room villas with their own private pool and Jacuzzi.
In contrast to the other categories of rooms, which
are I bit dark with older style decor, these villas
are very pretty with polished teak furnishings and Oriental
carpets. You will pay a premium, however.
