Sri Serawak MALAY Sri Sarawak is the only place to find Malay food in a fine-dining establishment. The restaurant occupies the 18th floor of the Crowne Plaza hotel, with views all around to the city below. The friendly and helpful staff is more than happy to help you navigate the menu, which includes Sarawak specialties such as umai, raw fish that's "cooked" in lime juice with onion, ginger, and chile. I'm addicted and want everyone to try it!

Toh Yuen CHINESE One of the premier Chinese restaurants in Kuching, hvh Yueh serves excellently prepared dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. Chef's specialties like butter prawns melt in your mouth, as do any of the many bean curd selections and crunchy vegetable dishes. Beware, portions are huge! Call ahead for special promotions for weekend lunch and dinner, which can be surprisingly low priced.
