GETTING THERE 3

Perdana Resort Mmmmmmm, I'll be honest with you. Hanging out at a resort in Kelantan just isn't fun. Go to any beach and you'll see locals swimming fully clothed. At this resort, the atmosphere is less conservative, but the thought ofbaring skin in a bikini somehow felt too trashy to bear. I've included it in this edition just so you know all the options, but I really prefer staying in town in Kota Bharu. At Perdana Resort the individual chalets make for great privacy each with its own balcony outside and bathroom inside. They're also spacious, u if you want to put in an extra bed or two for an additional RM30 (US$8), , OUT still have ample room to get around.

Renaissance Kota Bharu Hotel * Are you as surprised as I am to find a Renaissance in a hardship posting like Kota Bharu? While it's nice to experience exotic cultures, sometimes you just want creature comforts. Catering primarily ur the oil industry execs who come for business trips, you'll find this hotel is the most efficient place in the whole state. Guest rooms do little to distinguish themselves from Renaissance rooms in other cities worldwide. You'd almost never know you were in deepest darkest Malaysia here-a plus and a minus. Another minus, if you're here for the sights, you're a bit farther from the action.
