From the top of the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia, you can see out past the marina to Malaysia and Indonesia-and the restaurant's three-tier design and floor-to-ceiling windows means every table has a view. It's decorated in contemporary style with nice Chinese accents. Lunch is an extensive display of seafood served in a host of international recipes, with chefs searing scallops to order. Dinner is a la carte, with dishes that combine Eastern and Western ingredients and cooking styles such as yuzu marinated cod with braised enoki and tasoi and grilled beef tenderloin with foie gras. For dessert, order the Equinox Temptation-a sample plate of desserts.

J. P. Bastiani * MEDITERRANEAN The real-life J. P Bastiani owned a pineapple cannery at Clarke Quay; today, he lends his name to this cozy Mediterranean place, with its walled courtyard patio in the back for cocktails, a wine cellar with a huge international collection on the first floor (buy your wine here for dinner), and a gorgeous dining room upstairs that's just dripping with romance. Their seafood dishes are the best, with a choice of a delicious coriander-crusted salmon with ginger and onion confit, or the pan-roasted sea bass, which is stuffed with leeks and potato. You can also try one of their excellent meat entrees such as rack of lamb or filet mignon. The dishes are rich and servings are quite large, so make a mental note in advance to save room for their fantastic tiramisu.
