INTO SINGAPORE 2

If you do try to bring in any of the above articles, they will be confiscated and you will need to defend yourself to the relevant authorities. Pornographic materials will be confiscated, and upon occasion, videotapes will be returned with questionable scenes erased. And-my favorite part-you will be charged a small sum for the "service."
Another tip: You may be carrying items that are perfectly legal elsewhere, but aren't legal here.

Keep in mind to report the following items to Customs officers upon entry: any sort of video cassette, decorative weapons (say, if you've bought a lovely antique keris dagger in Malaysia), or pornographic materials. If they find theseitems on you and you've failed to declare them, you could be punished with a fine. You may be ordered by Customs to unpack your bags to reveal the contents inside. As a leisure traveler, you should rarely have any problems along these lines, but it's always better to be aware. By the way, on a nice note, if you have been asked to empty your cases, the officers are required to help you repack if they're not too busy.

With all of the publicity surrounding the issue, Singapore's strict drug policy shouldn't need recapitulation, but here it is: Importing, selling, or using illegal narcotics is absolutely forbidden. Punishments are severe, up to and including the death penalty (automatic for morphine quantities exceeding 30g, heroin exceeding 15g, cocaine 30g, marijuana 500g, hashish 200g, opium 1.2kg, and methamphetamines 250g). If you're carrying smaller sums (anything above: morphine 3g, heroin 2g, cocaine 3g, marijuana 15g, hashish 10g, opium 100g, and methamphetamines 25g) you'll still be considered to have intent to traffic, and may face the death penalty if you can't prove otherwise. If you're crazy enough to try to bring these things into the country and you are caught, no measure of appeal to your home consulate will grant you any special attention.
