KUALA TERENGGANU

Kuala Terengganu is small and easy to navigate, clustered around a port at the mouth of the Terengganu River. Many livelihoods revolve around the sea, so most of the activity even today, focuses on the areas closest to the jetties. The local business week is from Saturday to Wednesday, so be prepared for that when you plan your time here.
The Tourism Information Centre is on Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin just next to the post office and across from the central market. The phone number there is (09/622-1553).

Malaysia Airlines has two daily flights from KI, to Kuala 7erengganu's Sultan Mahmud Airport. Their national reservations number is (1300/88-3000). For local airport information call t 09/GGG-4204. From the airport, a taxi to town is about RM15 (US$3.95).

The MPKT Bus Terminal is located on Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin next to the water. Plusliner (03/4043-4285) has two daily buses from KL, departing from the Putra Bus Terminal opposite the Putra World Trade Centre. The trip time is 8 hours, with tickets priced at RM25.70 (US$6.75). From Kuantan you can also catch the Plusliner bus heading from KL’S to Kuala Terengganu via Kuantan. For buses out of Kuala Terengganu call Plusliner at (09/G22-707G).
