Terengganu Craft Cultural Centre Operated by the Malaysian Handicraft development Corporation, The Craft Cultural Center, also called Budaya Craft, only sells handicrafts, but also has blocks of warehouses where artisans create the work. See batik painting, brass casting, basket weaving, and wood carving well as other local crafts in progress.

If you are in Terengganu between May and August, you've arrived just in time to see the baby leatherback turtles. For hundreds of years, possibly more, giant dicrback turtles have come to the shore here by the thousands. The females %I to the beaches where they dig holes in which to lay their eggs. Sixty days r. the small turtles hatch and scurry for the water. In recent decades the turtles had trouble carrying out their ritual, with development and poaching putting severe hardships on the population. Of the babies that are hatched, 11u never make it to the deep sea. At the Department of Fisheries of the state of Terengganu (Taman Perikanan Chendering, 09/917-3353) there is a sanctuary that collects the eggs from the beaches, incubates them in hatcheries, n sets the babies free. They welcome visitors to their exhibits about turtles I the sanctuary's activities, and to midnight watches to see mothers lay eggs and babies hatch. These activities are free of charge.
