The most famous course has to be the Royal Johor Country Club, 3211 Ja1an Larkin, 80200 Johor Bahru, Johor (07/223-3322; fax 07/224-0729). This 18-hole, par-72 course provides the favored game of the sultan of Jo6or, so v don't accept walk-ins. You must contact the club manager beforehand to obtain admission. Once you've received his okay, expect to pay RM105 (US$28) weekday play and RM210 (US$55) for weekends.
Other courses to try , include Palm Resort Golf & Country Club, Jalan Persiaran Golf, off Jalan Jumbo, 81250 Senai, Johor (07/599-6222; fax 07/599-G001), with two hole courses, par 72 and 74, and greens fees RM150 (US$39) weekdays, RM250 to RM325 (US$6G-US$86) weekends; Pulai Springs Country Club, km 20 Jalan Pontian Lama, 81110 Pulai, Johor ((CJ 07/521-2121; fax 07/ 1-1818), with two 18-hole courses (both par 72) and greens fees of RM105 I O$28) weekdays, RM210 (US$55) weekends); or the Ponderosa Golf & country Club, 10-C Jalan Bumi Hijau VIaman Molek, 81100 Johor Bahru, or (07/354-9999; fax 07/355-7400), with 18 holes, par 72, and greens of RM80 (US$21) weekdays, RM180 (US$47) weekends).
The Johor Craftown Handicraft Centre, 36 Jalan Skudai, off Jalan Abu Bakar 07/236-7346), has, in addition to a collection of local crafts, demonstration performances of handicrafts techniques. JOTIC, 2 Jalan Ayer Molek (07/ 224-2000), is a shopping mall with tourist information, cultural performances, hibits, demonstrations of crafts, and restaurants.
