Muddy Murphys This is one of a few Irish bars in Singapore. Located on two levels in the shopping mall, on the upper level you have the more conservative business set having drinks after their 9-to-5 gigs, while downstairs the parry lasts a little longer and gets a little more lively. Irish music rounds out the ambience created by the mostly Irish imported trappings around the place. Occasionally they’ll even have an Irish band. There is a limited menu for lunch, dinner, and iIacks. Hours are Sun-Thurs 11am; Fri-Sat 11am-3am. freaky Chinese dream in an old Singaporean shophouse. Creep through the pintu pagar front door into the main room, its old walls of crumbling stucco washed in sexy Chinese red, and lanterns glowing crimson in the air shaft rising above the island bar. The crowd is mainly young professionals who by late night I ~.me been known to dance on the bar (and not only on weekends). The back has ~ hit more space for seating, darts, and a pool table. 5 Down Peranakan Place there are a few bars, one of which is No. 5, a ,xol, dark place just dripping with Southeast Asian ambience, from its old shop-muse exterior to its partially crumbling interior walls hung with rich wood carvings. The hardwood floors and beamed ceilings are complemented by seating areas cozied with Oriental carpets and kilim throw pillows. Upstairs is more conventional table-and-chair seating. The glow of the skylighted air shaft and the chirring fans above make this an ideal place to stop for a cool drink on a hot afternoon. In the evenings, be prepared for a lively mix of people.
